Antonio Brown is Officially a Heel

Image
Antonio Brown going from fan favorite to public enemy number one over the last three months made me think one thing; I've seen this before. Like, a lot of times. And then I realized; this is something straight out of a WWE story line. If you took out the football aspect out of the entire story and just said all of the main story points, it is stuff that would make Vince McMahon blush. Hear me out: AB was the ultimate underdog who emerged as a fan-favorite and eventually rose to the top. Daniel Bryan anyone? In the midst of this, he emerges as a guy who is highly respected and beloved throughout the league for his hard work, dedication, and gets along with the fans. Google John Cena 2005-2012 Then seemingly out of nowhere, he turns his back on all of that almost instantly, and becomes hated. See: Chris Jericho, Sgt. Slaughter, Seth Rollins etc. Antonio Brown is the Shawn Michaels to the Steelers' Marty Jannetty. He is the Randy Savage to the Steelers' Hulk

Jarrett Bailey Mock Draft 1.0

1. Arizona Cardinals: QB Kyler Murray, Oklahoma: It seems to be the popular opinion around the NFL that new head coach Kliff Kingsbury will move on from Josh Rosen, meaning Kyler Murray will be the number one overall pick. Let's stop with the talks of him being too short; the guy can play. He can throw from the pocket, outside the pocket, on the run, and make plays with his feet. Ten to fifteen years ago, there is no way he would be in this conversation, but it is a new NFL; the quarterback is more protected, which will help the smaller Murray a lot. He is maybe the most unique talent in the draft, and the Cardinals need to pull the trigger if they feel like this is their guy. 2. San Francisco 49ers: DE Nick Bosa, Ohio State: Bosa is regarded as the best prospect in the draft in a class loaded with pass-rushing talent. Though he missed much of this past season after leaving Ohio State to focus on the draft process, there is no denying the talent that Bosa possesses. He had fo

Magazine Update

For those who may have missed some of the recent updates I have been sharing with you all on my various Twitter accounts let me give you a hand. First off the upcoming re-release of the magazine is all about the previous issue that was release late last year. The only difference this time around is that all the money will be given to a charity benefiting mental health awareness instead of only a portion of the proceeds be given to the charity. The reason for this is that the re-release isn't suppose to be an attempt to make money it's just an attempt for me to market this the right way and see if I can do a better job then I did the first time. I have said this before and will say it again nothing I do has ever had anything to do with money it has also been about passion. Making money doing this would just be an added bonus that would make all this seem very surreal. Adding in the ability to benefit something that is very close to my heart due to my own personal battles with

Issue Number Two: Coming Soon

Back in October we took a big step in attempting to rebuild OTB Central by releasing the first edition of a magazine. I worked with fellow writers to put together a magazine built "For fans by fans" and though some might call the first attempt a failure I will call it a success. The reason I will call it a success is, because even though I was the only person who bought a copy of the magazine we still made one. For the time that the magazine was available we had a magazine for sale with the On the Bleachers name attached to it, which in my opinion is incredible to think about. Looking back though I do think I made some mistakes like not marketing it well enough and maybe picking the wrong time to release it. However, in discussing it with former writers we decided to take another attempt at a magazine, but do things a little differently this time. The reality is that I recently tweeted on the NHL OTB account looking for fans that might be interested in writing for the magaz

Are the Buffalo Sabres legitimate cup contenders?

by: Conor Duncan      It’s no secret that over the course of the recent history, the buffalo sabres organization has been inept at creating a winning program. They have not made a playoff run since 2011 and every year seems to be more of the same, finishing out bottom of the table. However recent play has pushed the weary team to 3rd place in the Atlantic division, among power  house teams such as Tampa, Toronto and Boston. But what is driving the Sabres new found success?  Last off-season  Buffalo drafted young Rasmus Dahlin, a defenseman from Sweden. So far this young d-man has proven quite capable, averaging 14 points between 2 goals and 12 assists. However he isn’t the only Buffalo defenseman stepping up this year, between zack bogosnians oldfashioned physical style of play and Rasmus Ristolainens scoring capabilities, The Buffalo sabres have made it a real challenge to break through the offensive zone.     Jeff skinner has also had a career revitalizing season so far with 28

It has Arrived: But What Happens Now

After four months of getting the writers together and figuring out what to include in the magazine we have finally reached the point where it's time to see the final copy. Honestly, if I can put aside the idea of "money" for a minute it is incredible to think that I have a magazine up for sale. I know that some people might think "oh what is the big deal" well the big deal is that I've never done anything like this out of fear. Let me explain the fear that I am referring to is just the thought of well I am going to put all this work into it and nobody will read it. However, recently I have been trying to reason out things I might regret not doing and this was one of them, partially due to the other writers that had an investment in this magazine. Either way though I am very excited about the magazine being finished and everything ready to go. I will be honest right now that the moment that I go on and see the first sale of the magazine I will be at a los

A New Era for On the Bleachers

Image
Recently on social media I have been teasing a "major announcement" pushing the end to a mystery that only few people know about at this point. The reason that only a handful of people know about what the announcement is based on the fact that they are involved in the project. But after months of hard work I think it's time to finally explain what exactly we have been working on and why. Basically following the end of On the Bleachers as a website I decided that we could move everyone over to blogger just to allow both OTB to continue and give those who still wanted to write the opportunity to do so. Now I did bring the OTB_WWE to my wrestling site, but that's just because it was easier for me to have her go there instead of here as it would help me. Either way though we getting away from the point a little while after the new OTB started I found a way to put together a magazine where it wouldn't be super expensive. From there I got on sending DM's to the f
